Worlds Coolest Games

Everyone has been in the playing-all day long phase at a certain point of their lives. And while some recognize it and some will frequently deny it, most of us, even at our ages, still like to play games for certain reasons like boredom, lack of other interesting activities or as a form to relax after an exhausting day at work or school. But while the elders were mainly playing outdoors, combining that way different sports or activities implying physical effort with the joyful parts, newer generations like to do that indoors, from the comfort of their leather-chief like chair, in front of a multi purpose screen.

Ever since the appearance of newer generation computers, the digital gaming industry has been in a continuous grow and, for decades now, hundreds of millions kids worldwide have played even one computer, if they are not really addicted to them by now. And not only the kids are becoming addicted to computer games, but youngsters and even grownups like to sit in front of a colorful screen at least six hours a day and ...play.

So, with millions of buyers and fans across the globe, no wonder gaming industry has developed a lot and offer now a full range of fun, interesting, time-consumer games for all tastes and minds. From shooters to strategy games, to social and card games, boys and girls, grownups or 3-year old kids, we all have a favorite game that we try to play as often as possible. Still, what are the world's coolest games ever? Here's a review in time with the biggest "blockbusters" in the game industry:

1. Civilization Microprose, 1993

While some games might be equally addictive, none have sustained quite the level of rich, satisfying gameplay quite like Sid Meier's magnum opus. The mixture between exploration maps, economical field, conquest and diplomacy is at its peak, while you struggle to build Pyramids, discover gunpowder and launch a colonization spacecraft outside the Solar System. I am sure that the ones they played that have found themselves in the posture of saying "just one more game.." and then play it again for days.

2. WOW, or for unknowers, World of Warcraft

Another brain-damaging, addictive game that unfortunately has made human victims worldwide. The blend of excitement, characters, weapons and stories told is fascinating and due to constant new features that are implemented to the game and the numerous variants, it is one of those games that never end and you will never end playing too.

3. Sims

The ultimate in socializing game. You grow your characters, get a job, eat, go to dinner and clubs, fall in love, suffer, buy a house, buy a car, get a cooler job and so on. Just like in the real life, but with cuter versions of your face

4. Doom, ID Software, 1993

Simply the best action game of all time. Even though DOOM wasn't true 3D, it transformed the way everyone thought about the PC as a fast gaming machine.

My personal favorites still are the quieter ones, like Age of Empires, Mobility or Diner Dash. Quite silly and girly, but what are your coolest favorite games?
