Wooded Mech Suite

Michael Rea is known for his complex wood designs that depict some of the coolest things from sci-fi books and films. Among his crazy transports, wacky guns and alien life forms there’s a massive and menacing mech suite specifically designed for one of the brightest minds to date, Stephen Hawking.

DVice informs that the suit is titled “A Prosthetic Suit For Stephen Hawking with Japanese Steel” and is a tribute to Hawking as the designer himself is a huge fan of the theoretical physicist. Rea says that he enjoyed Hawking’s comical appearances on shows such as The Simspons and Futurama, but he somehow felt that the special chair that is used by the physicist isn’t quite matching his spiritual stature.

As we can see in the second image, the eight-foot-tall, 300-pound suit doesn’t seem to be a simple inert sculpture. There's a hatch located at the rear of the unit for someone to crawl in, and the mech even comes equipped with a huge fist and a gripper, resembling the Cargo-suite from the Alien films.

Now Stephen Hawking can go ahead and try this one out. It might look a bit scary, but it certainly fits his character. Oh, and don’t forget to add some new advanced voice synthesizer to the suite. Or maybe a mind-controlled interface.
