Volkswagen’s 2028 Cars

Many of us ask ourselves how things are going to look in tens, hundreds or even thousands of years and beyond. Sci-fi writers are also very good at offering us images of the future of our civilization. One thing that’s usually employed to depict future societies is the car. I tried to imagine how cars would look like in 20 years, and I have to admit there are endless possibilities when it comes to designing the exterior look of a car, although it’s clear that some interior features will soon become the standard. Many automotive makers have expressed their visions regarding the car of the future and now it’s Volkswagen’s turn.

The German constructor has some rather minimalistic, though sleek, concepts for possible cars of the year 2028. The futuristic automotive line includes cars for a single passenger up to a full sized family vehicle.

Volkswagen thought it would be better to put online a special site dedicated to its future visions. The site features an intuitive interface along with a short film that presents a father and his son discussing about the present (then past) problems encountered with vehicles and how they managed to deal with them, supposing that they also got over global warming issues.

All these cars of the future envisioned by Volkswagen are able to communicating with each other in order to better control the flow of traffic. This, in turn, is said to save us time as well as better protect our lives. Check out the 2028 site for yourselves to see some more car concepts and informative clips.
