uBOT-5 Nursebot
You happen to have some really old folks back at home, but you don’t really want to put them in a special home as they might feel like banished from that beloved place of yours. We got that covered! Check out the uBOT-5 robot concept.
In the near future, the uBOT-5 could offer a solution that may help you deal with your old folks without having to resort to depressing nursing homes or lame “life alert†badges. Some guys at the University of Massachusetts came up with this robot concept which is capable of picking up small objects, dialing 911 and even using a stethoscope to check vitals.

In addition to those basic functions, you could also program it to remind your old folks to take meds, or pick up packages or other important errands. Advanced features such as an integrated web cam, microphone, touch-sensitive LCD screen and Internet connection make it possible for doctors to conduct virtual house calls or for family members to interact with the old dudes from a distance.
Currently this thing could set you back a whooping $65,000, but manufacturers have stated that it may only cost a few thousand to mass produce in a couple of year. Wait, the life insurance companies could cover that, right?

Hopefully, that’s some old lady who just feinted or entered a coma at most, while the nursebot is checking for her vitals with a stethoscope (no Thailandese massage included)
