Spykee

Spykee made its first appearance at CES Las Vegas this January and looks like it was well received back then. Meccano hasn’t mentioned anything about the release of their new surveillance robot up until a few days ago, when we learned that it is set for release in mid–September.

This one is not just another robot that would do crazy, but useless things. Spykee works as an MP3 player, takes photos, has VoIP phone functionality and patrols your house, alerting you when something goes wrong.

But that’s not all. According to Gizmodo, Spykee can be controlled via Wi–Fi or a regular web connection from anywhere in the world. So now you can use this robot to see what’s going on at home while you’re on some other part of the world. In case Spykee detects something fishy around or inside your house, it can even sound an alarm and send an email straight to you.

For those of you who like to build stuff, Spykee may be assembled in three different configurations straight out of the box. On top of all these, the smart robot knows when he’s running low on batteries and he’ll find the nearest charger.

Spykee is going to be available for £200, which is pretty cheap for what it can do.
