You and your girlfriend/wife can take a break from that pesky cleaning spree you have to do each week. Or at least part of it. Leave the carpet and floor cleaning to Hauzen VC-RE70V, Samsung’s new gizmo vacuum cleaner.

The round robo-cleaner uses some sort of small-scale GPS system comprised of several cameras in order to automatically generate a map of where it has cleaned the room already. A little hacking could transform this device into a robo-spy. Spies? Again?

When the Samsung Hauzen VC-RE70V senses it’s out of juice, it automatically finds the charging station and, after recharging, the robo-cleaner continues to clean where it last stopped. They sure put some serious amounts of memory in that gizmo.

You could easily take the VC-RE70V for a small size R2-D2, knowing that it comes equipped with 15 sensors to avoid obstacles. Wonder if you can transform these vacuum gizmos into racing robots, with all that motion detection put into them. Having two or more of these guys around the house could result into chaotic fun races.

The new Samsung vacuum robot will be released in Korea this month, but there’s no word on the pricing for now. My guess is it won’t be cheaper than the current models.
