Robot Lamp Base for Star Trek fanatics

Ever since I was a little child, I have hated science-fiction. I fought against the Star Trek trend with might and main and I tried to persuade other people that we should live in the present tense and that the future universe must not become our major concern. Ok, everyone should show a minimal interest in the evolution of the mankind, but this does not justify the fact that Enterprise became something like Peter Pan’s Neverland for every human being.
Later, I found myself in the position of understanding Dune, a science-fiction novel written by Frank Herbert, considered the most popular of all time. I was watching my friends becoming crazy about the novel and converting themselves into fanatics.

Now, why should I enjoy the presence of a pair of metallic robot lamps flanking the sides of my bed? These bedside lamps have a retro style reminiscent of a 1950s robot movie and are made of ceramic, finished in metallic silver. In addition, the lamp has a foam rubber at the base which gives it stability.
The lamp measures about 17″ in height, 4,5" in width and 2.5" in depth, so it’s large enough to put anywhere you like. There might be persons who’d prefer that the robots themselves lit up, but the bulb and the lampshade sticking out of the top of its head can be after all forgiven.
The Robot Lamp Base is available on Urban Outfitters for just $30.
