Radio-controlled Hummer

I assume you all know that notorious Hummer car. It’s supposed to be the ultimate 4X4 car out there. While there’s no denying this car can take some of the nastiest environments out there (since it was specifically built for the US army first and foremost), the Hummer can prove to be one of “the ultimate boy toys.”

Ubergizmo informs that Dr. James Brighton and his team from Cranfield University in Bedfordshire have managed to transform the Hummer H3 into a remote controlled vehicle, making it the biggest boy toy so far. He used a right hand drive Hummer instead of a downscaled version, which took about a month to be transformed. Dr. James comments: "The results are clear – all controllers will be amazed by the handling ability – the best any radio controlled vehicle has had to date.

The RC Hummer is able to climb a 407mm vertical wall, go down a 40 per cent side slope and operate in up to 610mm of water. It can easily be controlled to drive over obstacles, cross rivers and do all the things you wouldn’t want to do while in the car yourself. However, you might want to be gentle with it from time to time, as it costs you $70,000 after all. Also, you should check if the auto insurance covers remote control accidents. Here’s the RC Hummer doing its thing:
