Personal Rocket-Powered Helicopter

Remember James Bond’s jet pack? People have been trying to design personal propulsion devices for decades, but nothing really became available for the masses. Here’s some older design made anew by the Mexicans.

This looks quite weird at first. It’s sort of a strap-on helicopter which is boosted by a rocket jet pack. The pack itself is powered by two hydrogen fuel canisters and you even have rockets at the end of the blades, which negate the need for a tail rotor.

As you can see, these are just a couple of 3D images and the concept might never actually get made. But Tecnologia Aeroespacial Mexicana, the firm that designed this concept, made an actual prototype of their last jet pack. Well, didn’t they get to test it, and if so, didn’t anyone get to capture some footage? C’mon guys, we want to see the real deal! And put some more tech specs, like the autonomy for the jetpack and how much fuel it burns.
