Nooka Watches

Maybe the Japanese from Tokyo Flash were first to show some crazy cryptic watch concepts, but they certainly aren’t the only ones. Nooka is a US-based company that also produces watches integrating a unique mode of telling time.

The new Nooka models make use of a combination between dots and bars to represent hours and minutes as time goes by. The stylish design is intertwined with utilitarian means. Each of Nooka’s unique timepieces incorporates a visual mass of bars and dots that changes shape with the passage of time. Abstract at first glance, the time system quickly becomes intuitive.

The depicted model is known as the Nooka Zot-V Black, which retails for USD$265. The watch combines minimalist styling and lasting performance with a full-face mineral crystal lens for easy cleaning. According to Gizmag, the Zot-V also integrates a chronograph and an alarm function. The 12 dots represent hours or months if you switch to date mode, while the row underneath counts minutes. The watch is housed in stainless steel case with an LCD display, and comes with leather straps, resisting up to 5ATM/160ft.

There are two more models in the Zot family: Nooka’s Zot Aluminum and the ZUB20 Zot. For more information on these two and numerous other models, check out the Nooka official site.
