In case you’d really like to pimp up your keyboard, but you can’t afford to spend that much money on the Optimus Maximus LED keyboard from Art Lebedev, here’s an interesting alternative for you. The Luxeed multi-color LED keyboard won’t be displaying icons on your keys, but it sure knows how to put on a light show. The first version was only available in Korea, but know the keyboard is up for worldwide availability.

The Luxeed keyboard has been recently added to the ThinkGeek lineup of crazy gadgets. Luxeed provides brightly colored programmable keys that could easily transform your desk or work space into an artistic environment. Check out the demo clips:

Each Luxeed keyboard integrates 430 individual colored LEDs, and all of these can be programmed to light up in cool patterns using the included Windows software. You can choose among a series of included patterns or you can go ahead and program customized patterns yourslef.

The LED-powered keyboard is available in black or white for $199.99 each. However, the Luxeed keyboard does not include the right numeric keys that come standard with a QWERTY keyboard. To get the numeric part you’ll need to pay an additional $34.99, and keep in mind that this add-on is not LED-powered.

You can order one of these from the ThinkGeek.com site right away.
