Linksys Sleek Routers

Written on May 11, 2008 – 3:00 am | by Bogdan Alex |

Routers and networking devices usually come in boring shapes, but you don’t really expect to see some design studies with network-related stuff anyway. Linksys doesn’t seem to agree with my previous line of thought, as their newest line of routers features a black, sexy, and very sleek design. This way, your router can easily blend in with the other hi-tech stuff on your desk.

The new line consists of 4 units, ranging from $48.99 to $114.99. Each of the units has a set of smart features that are supposed to increase the connection speed and integrate a lot of protection technologies. Here are some of the features that come standard with the new models (MIMO is not included in all of them):

* Push button setup feature makes wireless configuration secure and simple
* Wireless encryption, and your network protected from Internet attacks by a powerful SPI firewall
* MIMO technology that uses multiple radios per band to create excellent signals for maximum rand and speed with reduced dead spots
* MIMO smart antenna technology captures faint signals for extended range and reduced dead spots
