Inspector Gadget
Inspector Gadget is an animated TV series that presents the adventures of a clumsy detective with the same name. He is a human, but it has many bionic gadgets that are built into his body. His enemy is Dr. Claw which is the leader of an evil organization called M.A.D. The cartoons were originally launched in 1983 and since then there had been made 2 seasons and 86 episodes. They had a great success, and they are still popular all over the world and they are made in collaboration by Canada, United States of America and France.
The main character is of course Inspector Gadget and his appearance is similar to the one of Inspector Clouseau from the Pink Panther series. Even if he wants it or not, many times he makes all sorts of clumsy and funny mistakes, sometimes he even confuse his niece with enemies and the enemies with friends. These mistakes are always putting him in troubles, but each time he manages to escape safely thanks to his cool gadgets. In his adventures he is helped by his niece Penny, by his faithful dog “Brain the Dog and he always fights with Dr. Claw and his assistants.
Since we are at the gadgets category, we’ll discuss now about some of the Inspector Gadget gadgets. Some of them are really interesting and quite strange, and sometimes they are helping him while other times they are only making his work even more difficult. When he uses a gadget, the inspector says “Go Go Gadget” and then the name of the gadget he wants to use. But to make things more funny, most of the times another gadget appears rather then the one he requested. Or even if the requested gadget appears, it is not working properly.
So now here are some of his gadgets:
- Gadget binoculars – a pair of binoculars that go down from his had and over his eyes
- Gadget ‘brella – a little hand that is holding an umbrella that comes out from his has. He usually uses this one as a parachute too.
- Gadget coat – the trench coat of the inspector which can inflate when he pushes a button and enable him to float
- Gadget ‘copter – some helicopter propeller blades that come out of his hat and which are helping him to fly
- Gadget cuffs – a pair of handcuffs that come out of his forearm
- Gadget hands – some mechanical hands that are coming out of his hat and which are holding all sorts of objects which the inspector needs to use
- Gadget arms, legs and neck – even these parts of the body of the inspector are gadgets and they can extend to great lengths
- A top secret Gadget phone – practically his hand becomes the phone, and the earpiece is placed in his thumb while the mouthpiece is placed in his pinky finger
- Gadget skates – some roller skates that are coming out of his shoes. But unfortunately he is very clumsy and hardly keeps his balance on these skates
- Gadget spring – a spring that comes out of his hat and which is used when the inspector falls down on the ground, with the head first. So this way he won’t injure himself and he will bounce.
- Gadget flower – a mechanical hand that is holding a sunflower and which is coming out from his hat. This usually sprays water or a sleeping gas on an enemy
- Gadget ears – metal cones that get out of his head, around his ears and which are helping him to hear better
- Gadget periscope – a periscope that comes out of his hat and which allows him to see over high objects and also underwater
- Gadget magnets – some magnets that are coming out of his shoes. They are allowing him to avoid slipping on slippery surfaces that are also metallic, because he can hold a grip on them
- Gadget siren – a police siren that comes out of his hat
- Gadget skis – a pair of skis that are coming out of the front and back of his shoes
- Gadget wind sail – a very big wind sail that comes out of his hat and which combined with the Gadget skis are allowing him to wind sail on the snow
- Gadget radar – as you might figured it out…a radar coming out of his hat
- And finally the Gadget fingers – there are all sorts of objects coming out of his fingers such as: a flashlight, a laser, a pen, a screwdriver, a skeleton key, a snow gun, a water pistol, a drill bit, a corkscrew or a whistle.
