HPI G-Dog Robot

Remember Aibo, the first robo-dog released by Sony? It knew a trick or two but it can’t compare to this little Cerberus you’re about to see.

HPI's G-Dog is some kind of kit so you got to assemble it first in order to activate it. The kit contains plastic pieces, three-axis acceleration sensor, servos and 7.2V nickel hydrogen batterys , just to name a few of the wacky things you’ll in there. When you assemble it you’ll have a 15 x 5.3 x 7.5 inches robo-dog with some crazy motion processing software. It also boasts a similar control unit and sensors as those found on the GR-001, a bipedal robot from HPI Japan as well. Looks pretty complex to me, I guess it can perform all sorts of tricks. Sit, play dead and stuff like that, but can it jump or fetch something? Or even better, can it sniff out drugs or criminals? It would be cool if we can train it.

So you know what to do when you get an unstoppable urge of putting thousands of little pieces together. But look on the bright side: you won’t be cleaning after it and it will be the most obedient thing you’ve ever seen. There’s no info on the price but stay tuned for a July launch in Japan. 'Ight dawgs!
