Delta 1080p LED Projector

That’s one sleek and smart DVD player form LG, but what should we use with it: a projector or a huge LCD/plasma/LED-backlit display? Sure, LCDs may be more affordable these days, but if you really have enough room, you might want a DLP projector. Delta Electronics have some new DLP projectors that are said to last more than the average ones.

This is supposed to be Delta’s first full-HD 1080p DLP projector that uses LEDs. This new addition enables a broader color gamut, together with a longer lifespan than traditional light bulbs. Delta claims that the LED unit is rated for 20,000 hours use and the new projector is said to be among the first to use PhlatLight rather than metal halide bulbs.

According to Slashgear, LED projectors don’t use a separate lamp, color wheel and shutter. The new system combines all three with a new algorithm to control each light in a more precise way. Delta were quick to point out the improved image quality, saturated color and dynamic contrast, but they somehow forgot to mention the total brightness.

Price and availability would probably be revealed at CEDIA 2008, where Delta will bring the new projector along with other products.

Hooray! Unfortunately, no pricing yet…so we may not be that happy, after finding out how much one of these would cost…:|

I can’t believe it’s taking so long to see high-power 1080p LED projectors.

how about at least 3 discreet colours assigned to 3 b/w high res LCDs
