Coolest Movie Villains
The man has invented the cinema and the movies for entertainment purposes only. It's fun to stay home or in the cinema hall and take your time to watch all kinds of movies introducing different characters. Usually everybody loves the good guy who does everything in his power to save all the people from whatever happens there: an accident, a tragedy of some sort or the intervention of a villain. I can certainly nominate Bruce Willis for this part, as almost all his roles were that of the good guy fighting all the bad guys at the same time. However, from time to time,. we get tired of this or we are simply chramed by the performance of a great actor and fall in love with the bad character in the movie, with the villain who appears only to give some suspense and thrill to the plot.
There were lots of brilliant interpretations in movies along time and they are remembered by the public with tears in their eyes. That is why many movie magazines and some web sites that are dealing with actors and movies asked the audience or the opinion of some movies specialists and came up with several lists or top of the coolest movie villains in the history of the cinema. Some of the actors performing these parts are no longer with us, but they remain in cinema history as iconic characters.
I am sure that most of you remember Darth Vader, the bad character in the Star Wars series, who never revealed his face and wore a black mask and spoke with a harsh low voice. He is definitely one of the coolest movie villains of all time. Then I should mention Hannibal Lecter, the cannibal killer in the Silence of the lambs, who was brilliantly played by Anthony Hopkins and which brought him an Academy Award. How about the Joker in the Dark Knight - played by the regretted Heath Ledger? Or an older movie - Psycho with Norman Bates (Anthony Perkins) that will always be remembered for the shower scene of the murder.

Glenn Close performed an impecable villain as Alex Forrest in Fatal Attraction, though until then not many people would have imagined a woman as villain. The Godfather series introduced the Italian villain and the Mob in cinema history and Michael Corleone is one of the really bad guys depicted in movies. Coming back to the modern times, we should mention Lord Voldemort played by Ralph Fiennes in Harry Potter series or the alien in the Alien series. Even if many bad characters are in fact computer generated and edited like the alien, Terminator, the sharks in Jaws, the monster in Predator and so on, they are still negative characters in movies, so villains, right?

I could go on with this the whole day, but if you are curious to see more opinions and many top 100 or top 50 with the coolest movie villains, just follow these links: www.movievillains.com, www.franksreelreviews.com, www.wikipedia.org, www.filmsite.org, www.timesonline.co.uk and www.about.com.
