February Is The Coolest Month

For example we have a different climate on the Equator where the weather is always hot and dry and another one near the Poples where there is always cold and winter. There are two big stripes in between that are called temperate areas where the climate is in between the extremes, that is it’s a temperate climate. The climate differs very much between the southern and the northern hemisphere and they complete each other somehow. When it’s summer in the northern hemisphere , there’s winter on the other side of the planet and so on. In some areas of the planet there are four seasons – spring, summer, autumn and winter. That is true for the most part of the planet and there are only two seasons in the rest of the planet – the wet season and the dry season. But no matter where and how , it seems that <strong>February is the coolest month</strong>. I am talking about the average temperature that is registered in February and then compared to the average temperature of the other months.

The average temperature of the month of February is different in different parts of the planet because it belongs to different seasons. If you live in the Northern hemisphere you certainly know that February is considered a winter month. So it normal to have the lowest temperatures of the year. But in the southern hemisphere this month is the equivalent of August, so it is considered as a summer month. But since most of planet’s population lives in the northern hemisphere, as the southern one is mostly covered by oceans, February is regarded mainly as a winter month and also considered the coolest month of the year.
But let’s explain how come<strong> February is the coolest month</strong>. If you want to be very sure of this statement you must have access to a lot of data. That is why there is a National Institute of Climatology in every country. This institute gathers information from all over the country regarding the temperatures measured in every town and city in the country every single day. This way they obtain the average temperature of a day and then that of a month in a certain country.
If you can obtain all the average temperatures of the month of February from all the countries, you will then be able to get an average temperature for February that refers to the whole planet. So it’s a bit complicated but these things are possible now and pretty easy to find out because climatologists are helped by computers and they communicate by using the internet. You can also have access to their data if they are shared on the internet.
It is very useful to know these things for having a general perception of the world, but it is also useful to know the special characteristics of the month of February all over the world because if you happen to plan a holiday in Australia for example and you live in Europe, you might be surprised to go there equipped only with winter clothes and when you arive you will see people wearing sandals and shorts. So I guess information is really important.
