Maybe we are accustomed to see the LEGO bricks in an entirely different context, where children are trying to express their imagination in the best way possible, but it’s not unusual to see more and more gadgets made of the famous LEGO basic bricks. Gadgets that are all aimed at grown-ups, of course, because otherwise it wouldn’t be a surprise for anyone and the issue wouldn’t raise so many discussions.

It’s not the first time to see such gadgets, because we’ve witnessed before the apparition of an Alcatel phone made of LEGO bricks or of digital cameras, video camera, MP3 players and walkie talkies, all made of the famous bricks.

This is why an accessory for the desktop is more than welcome as long as it looks like… guess what? A LEGO brick. These USB hubs are designed by Systown and they are perfect for the gadgets I’ve mentioned earlier, adding three more ports to the ones you already have. The main disadvantage is the fact that they are kind of difficult to get, because they are available only in Korea. Therefore, if you don’t happen to live there or to have a vacation planned in this country, the chances for you to have a LEGO USB hub are actually zero.

If, on the other hand, purchasing one isn’t a mission impossible for you, then you should know that DCX is selling these hubs for 15,290 KRW (meaning no more than $12).

Here in my country, Romania, to be more precise, the Mother’s Day has always been celebrated on the 8th of March and being so accustomed to this date it’s somehow difficult for me to think that I can wish my mom all the best in the world today. And I say today because I understood that many countries celebrate Mother’s Day on May 10th.

And because you all know what such a day means (hell yeah, I’m talking about tons of presents, from mawkish poems to cheesy, even “cheap†jewelry) you might need a helping hand as far as the present for your mom is concerned. Just in case you thought about giving her something today.

So, here we have a USB flash drive that your mom will most certainly love to have, especially because it will be you to give it to her. I wouldn’t give something like this to my mom, I’d rather buy her a bouquet of her favorite flowers and that’s that. Mission accomplished. It’s not like a heart shaped USB flash drive will make her believe that it’s actually a testimony of my love for her, of my heart being given to her and to her only.
The Heart Handbag Necklace USB Flash Drive is an elegant and very trendy device that will help your mom store the data she needs on a regular basis. Being all covered in some sort of crystals, the drive comes with a storage capacity of no more than 2GB, which is pretty enough for her needs, don’t you think?
Available in two color versions, pink and white, these flash drives can be purchased for $23 each and can easily turn into unique Mother’s Day gifts that will make your mother the happiest woman on earth.

It is called Mvix Nubbin and it is said to be the world’s smallest wireless-N adapter, being aimed at all sorts of not only portable devices, but also embedded ones.
“Mvix Nubbix is perfect accessory for high-speed Wireless networks, capable of delivering the range and capacity to support today’s most bandwidth-hungry applications, like streaming HD (High Definition) video, voice and music. With its competitive price and comprehensive set of features, we expect this accessory to be well accepted by our customersâ€, said Mike Mallon, who is the Business Development Manager of the USA-based company Mvix.

Now let’s talk a little bit about the features of this tiny device. It comes with a micro-footprint which has a protrusion smaller than 2 centimeters and delivers data at 150Mbps, compliance with IEEE 802.1n draft 3.0 and IEEE 802.1b/g, support for WMM and WMM-PS (IEEE 802.1e QoS Standard), innovative WPS (which is Wireless Protected Setup), auto-builds connection, synchronizes settings, compatibility with several operating systems such as Microsoft Windows XP / Vista, Mac OS X and Linux.

The Wireless-N is in fact a mixture between several technologies that are present right now in the market, and I’m talking about the Multiple Input, Multiple Output, also known as MIMO, which does something like simultaneously transmitting and receiving by using multiple radios. And why does it do this? Well, in order “to maximize wireless networking performanceâ€.
The Nubbix is able to adapt to a standard USB 2.0 port and, in addition, it is able to connect in a wireless way to a router. It is also provided with a backward compatibility and interoperability with 802.11b/g devices.
The wireless-N adapter is expected to become available starting today (May 7th, 2009) under a retail price of only $39.

You can never have enough USB hubs for the tons of USB gadgets that you own, because there are so many available in the market that you just have to buy more and more. This means that for every USB gadget you’ll have to purchase a new USB hub. Lucky you, choosing the best USB hub to fit your needs won’t be a problem, as the offer is so varied these days.

The USB 3-in-1 Rota-Rota Combo Hub is another alternative when it comes to such gadgets, and it comes with something different, an integrated thermometer. The hub consists of three USB ports, a card reader that can be used for a wide variety of memory cards, and, of course, a thermometer. Maybe it isn’t the most accurate thermometer to ever be built, but it’s able to do its job in a very efficient way.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
The three USB 2.0 ports are fully rotatable, which means they can be rotated to 90 degrees separately, so users will be able to adjust the angles of the ports just the way they like it. Not to mention the fact that this makes it easier for you to plug in the USB drives.

What makes the difference is the thermometer. Actually, the two thermometers. To be honest, I don’t really know why someone would be interested in a device that tells you the temperature of the room you’re in, but it seems that there mustn’t be an explanation for everything. Anyway, the thermometer displays the temperature in both Celsius and Fahrenheit degrees, this being the reason why there are two thermometers instead of only one.

As for the features, the USB Rota-Rota Combo Hub comes with USB 2.0, three 90 degrees rotatable USB ports, compatibility with the USB 2.0 specification, backwards compatible with the USB 1.1, the plug and play feature and support for Windows 2000 / XP / Vista. The device measures 102 x 31 x 32 millimeters and weighs approximately 50 grams, being available at Brando for no more than $15.
