Latest Gadget And Its Uses

Saturday, May 15th, 2010 |

An ordinary day begins with waking up, poring yourself a cup of coffee, maybe some breakfast, a quick preparation for work? And the day of work just drifts away between files and other papers and chatting with your colleagues about the latest mischief of your child. And then you come home to a quiet evening with your family in front of the TV. And then comes the next day, and the next day, and so on.

BORING!!!! Come on folks, this isn’t the nineteen hundreds! People need excitement and energy in their lifes. They need to wake up and not feel that today is exactly like yesterday. Otherwise we’re all just John Does. And engineers have discovered how things can change around us in a comfortable manner even for the most routine lovers of us. You know them, you use them every day in almost all actions, and life just couldn’t feel the same without them. And another thing! One always needs to have the latest version. I’m talking about gadgets of course. They are everywhere. From the coffee maker in your office to the donuts factory on your kitchen counter. From cars and children toys, e-books and networking sites, audio and video gadgets, personal computers getting smaller and easier to use. You name it! Technology is all around us, and only God knows with what they’ll come up with next.

And in that order of ideas witch is the latest gadget? Probably the one released this morning lasting until noon. After that it’s old news. But even so some gadgets are willing to make a statement. The last one of this kind comes from Apple, and it revolutionized the way computers are seen and used. The device has a 9.7 inch, LED backlit IPS display with a precise Multi-Touch screen, its 1.5 pounds and 0.5 inch thin, it’s easy to carry and use anywhere. Thousands of apps were made exclusively for iPad and many more are coming everyday. This practical device allows you to surf the web, view whole pages in portrait or landscape on the large Multi-Touch screen and do all that with nothing but your fingers.

And when it comes to e-mail a whole new experience comes to you that lets you see and touch your mail like never before. Mail on iPad is compatible with the most popular email providers, including MobileMe, Google Gmail, Microsoft Exchange, Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail, and AOL, along with most industry-standard IMAP and POP email systems. When you’re ready to write a message to a friend, a single tap opens a large onscreen keyboard with keys that are practically the same size as a notebook’s. It can accelerate your typing by tracking what you type, suggesting words, correcting spelling and inserting punctuation automatically.
In the end, how cool really is technology of our days and how many benefits does it bring us?

Coolest Song In The World

Saturday, May 15th, 2010 |

Each of us grew up listening to different songs, types of music or bands. And, of course, each of us has a favorite song, band, artist, genre, you name it. Judging by this fact, and by the Roman line “De gustibus non disputandum”, it is impossible to select only one song to be called as the coolest/ best/ greatest in the world. Still, not even creating a whole list with 10, 100 or 1000 best songs in the world isn’t an easy job, as there are hundreds of millions of songs, some older, some newer, from over 200 countries and territories, from over one million artists in the world.
<-300×250 Medium Rectangle – center->
But as people love to make statistics and write about things impossible to qualify, there are actually lists made of some of the coolest songs from all times. There are even CDs made, in various albums that claim they stock the best songs from all known composers such as Beethoven, Bach or Mozart, to adored rockstar legends such as AC/DC, Nirvana or Metallica. So, in order not to bore you anymore with general information, here are some of the tracks voted as the best and coolest in the world, in different genres:
1. On the Airwaves – Shazam
2. Can’t Stand It – The Greenhornes
3. My Kind of Girl – The Forty-Fives
4. Gimme That Shot – The Charms
5. Somewhere Nowhere – Chesterfield Kings
6. Lost My Motto – Cotton Mather
7. Put Some Hurt on You – Boss Martians
8. I Woke Up This Mornin’ – The Mooney Suzuki
9. Straight Shooter – The Reigning Sound
10. You’re My Favorite – Caesars

I, personally, didn’t hear from at least one of these songs, nor the bands, but hey, that’s just me. So getting down to some of my favorite songs in the world, I could name at least 20 of them. I like most songs with strong lyrics, that reach the audience in a certain way, those type that actually tell a story or, at least, have great rhymes or voices. And being a totally obsessed fan of bands like Maroon 5, Kings of Leon or artists like Justin, no wonder that I do consider some of their works as masterpieces. So, in terms of Maroon 5, I can only list “Secret”, “Woman” and “She will be loved”, whereas Kings of Leon truely touch me with tracks like “Sex on Fire” or “Closer”. Also, speaking of all time favorite tracks of Justin, “Cry me a river’ is, by far, the coolest and strongest song he ever composed. Still, not bad either for “What Goes Around Comes Around.”

As stated before, tastes cannot be discussed, so I’m sure there are thousands of other tracks that deserve to be No. 1 and crave for your attention. After all, we all seek in music something different and, as long as we will listen to songs, they will never die.

1930’s Coolest Hair Styles

Saturday, May 15th, 2010 |

From the beginning of time fashion has played an important role in our lives. Has dictated who belongs were according to the physical aspect and appearance. And so every woman knows the critical importance of a good dress, a fashionable pair of shoes, professional make up and not last beautiful hair. The hairstyles change with the fashion and why not repeat with it. But even so generally one style remains representative for an entire decade. In the 1930’s for example the female silhouette was back. Behind were boyish lines of the 20s, the woman would regain her elegance and 1930′s womanly curves were emphasized by the use of bias cut fabrics.

Hairstyles were a little bit shy in the face of change in the early nineteen thirties, but little by little they slowly began to soften, as waves were entering the scene. “Finger waves” was called the new style, and some were parted in the center, others on the side. But not long after that woman wanted to have full hair with volume and lush deep waves.

They would start feeling sexy and would disclose more of they body not only the hair. Hats would change together with this as well. From the cloche hats that once hid their foreheads woman now wore wearing button plate hats that would reveal their whole face. In that time curls were all the rage and woman would wrap small portions of their hair around their finger, quite tightly and secure it with a pin. This could create different sized curls as desired because one of the most important aspects of a good hairdo at the time was to be able to adapt to the latest model and most fashionable hat.

If you come to think about it the nineteen thirties was a difficult decade as the men were loosing their jobs and quite often were forced to leave their homes and work elsewhere in order to provide for their families. This is yet another reason why women would brake off and dare wearing backless bathing suits. Through all those troubled years, hairstyles were the means of making a statement and when the women would go to the salons they began to be assisted with a bold color as only Hollywood dared to set the trend once more.

Celebrities such as Jean Harlow provoked confidence and courage in the souls of the thirties woman, as the mothers and wife’s of the time. Not long after that, there was a great number of war widows brightening, bleaching and shading their hair, even though this would give the older ladies something to whisper and gossip about. But the eminent approach of war did not change only the color in some women’s hair. Also hat fashion was now borrowing elements from the army such as peaked caps, bicorn and tricorne effects.

It’s hard enough to buy a decent pair of jeans for yourself, how much more for your man? Because, let’s face it, no matter how trendy men can become in our days, they still need that hint from a woman, that will make them want to wear those tight, skinny jeans. Why?
