Oreck Halo Vacuum Cleaner heals the fear of germs

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009 |

A vacuum cleaner is supposed to do what most people, me included, know: it cleans up your house when it’s all dusty. But, as far as I know, it doesn’t fight against germs or any other little creatures that we should not neglect, as they are able to mess with our health. Maybe we are not aware of the bad impact the germs can have on our lives on long term, but when children, for example, appear, we become more careful, and it’s understandable.

The new vacuum cleaner from Oreck, named Oreck Halo, is based on UV-C light that is able to help you eliminate the fear of germs as it kills them all from the floors. All you have to do is to just vacuum.

The Oreck Halo manages to revolutionize the technology known by now used in vacuum cleaners, being a mixture between an impressive suction that does dirt and debris in, and the light chamber of the vacuum cleaner that exterminates the unwanted creatures, such as bacteria, germs, viruses, mold, dust mite eggs and flea eggs.

The vacuum cleaner from Oreck will help you say goodbye to the germs, on one hand, and to your fear of germs, on the other hand. For a price of $599.95. And it’s up to you to decide whether it’s a hefty price or not.

LED video light from Brando

Monday, June 22nd, 2009 |

One thing that I’ve seen to be very popular among people these days is the creation from scratch of all sorts of videos that are meant to be posted on Internet on all sorts of social networking websites. People seem to be very amused by those situations when they catch their friends and family in embarrassing or funny states and they have what it takes in order to capture those states that they will further share with the whole world.

But what these videos usually lack is, of course, a very good technique and a very good quality, due to the light conditions, most of the times. And if need to improve this issue, you should know that there’s something to help you do this: the Rechargeable Cordless 70-LED for DC & Video Light, offered by Brando.

The features of this video light include: adjustable light reflecting cover (first of all, the angle of light source can be adjusted, and second of all, if the covers are closed, the LED light is being protected as well), an LED indicator that shows the battery level status (when 5-LEDs are on, the battery is full, and when the 1-LED is on, the battery is low).

The LED video light can be recharged in two different ways: either using a universal AC adaptor or using the PC or the notebook you own, via the USB cable. It measures 12 x 13.5 x 5 centimeters and can be bought from Brando for $59.

Portable photo studio

Monday, June 15th, 2009 |

Maybe you’ve seen a portable photo studio on previous occasions, I don’t know, but there are never enough in the market, so why not giving you the chance to see one more? You should be grateful for such an opportunity because this way you’ll have much more options to choose from when you make up your mind and go for the portable photo studio that you’ve dreamed about.

Compared to others, this one has the advantage to be a whole lot cheaper. Because, as you all know, the price is a very important criteria when you decide or not to buy a product. And this one is cheap. Not to mention the fact it is possible for you to collapse it, so that you won’t have to stumble over it when trying to find your way to the other room of your apartment.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

The package consists of the following items: a photo lightbox which is collapsible, just like I said, and has 16 inches cubed, two high-output table-top 35 watt photo lights and a nylon carrier with zipper that measures 9 x 4 x 8 inches. Of course, this miniature studio doesn’t include a camera and can be yours for only $49.99 from Think Geek.

Can’t afford a green mower?

Friday, June 5th, 2009 |

Well, it might be the case these days, because it’s not easy for anyone to deal with the crisis. Not to mention the fact that a green mower is so very expensive, precisely because it’s eco-friendly, so that people can’t afford one, as much as they like to support the green attitude.

However, the summer is here and we need a mower more than ever, so we should take into consideration an alternative, just in case we don’t have one already. So, if you are budget-conscious, just like you should, as a matter of fact, then here you have a quite nice alternative: the Neutron CE 6. It is as powerful as an electric mower can be, with the main difference that is conveniently powered by battery, which means you can say goodbye to the nasty power cords.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

In addition, this mower is a whole lot efficient, as it’s not noisy, it’s not messy and it doesn’t produce those enormous amounts of emissions that harm the air.

The mower is powerful enough, running on a removable, rechargeable battery. The battery provides 30 watt-hours of juice which is enough to mow approximately 1/3 of an acre (meaning approximately 15,000 square feet) or an hour (it depends on the conditions of the grass). What you should know is that the battery is designed to last no more than five years, if it’s properly taken care of, and it’s 95% recyclable.

If you can’t afford the green mower that you’ve been dreaming about, then you should content yourselves with the Neutron CE 6 which can be yours for $499.

Best electric toothbrush has an integrated accelerometer

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009 |

Ok. Breathe in, guys, breathe out. I know, it’s difficult for you to read all sorts of things about the best cell phone, best digital picture frame, best MP3 player. Each and every product that appears in the spotlight will most certainly be considered the best so far. Just like this toothbrush. It is the best electric toothbrush because… guess what? It is said to be the world’s first to be equipped with an integrated accelerometer.

At first glance, you wouldn’t say that it’s different from any other toothbrush that you’ve seen before, but if you were able to see what’s inside, you would be fascinated. Or not, if you’re not the type of guy that gets excited too easy. Anyway, the secret consists of the three-axis accelerometer sensor.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

The sensor is designed to detect how the user it brushing his/her teeth, the angle, to be more precise, and, what’s even more important, it is made to control (automatically) both the vibration speed and the direction of the toothbrush. To give you an example, you should know that the back teeth are polished at 32,500 cycles per minute, while the periodontal pockets are brushed at 20,000 cycles per minute.

Designed by Omron Healthcare, what’s supposed to be the best electric toothbrush is made of a substrate material that is much more resistant to vibration compared to other materials toothbrushes are made of. The company has had in mind the mid-end market, but it seems that with the so-called HT-B551 it is trying to hit the high-end market also.

The main disadvantage of the toothbrush is that it will be sold in Japan only, under a price that we don’t know for sure right now, but it’s rumored at approximately $200.
