More and more designers are interested these days in creating green devices, from cell phones, to desktop computers or clocks to wake you up in the morning, due to the danger that threatens the whole world.
The Timeless Garden clock is another green gadget that joins the family of eco-friendly devices, being aimed at saving energy, as it doesn’t work by plugging it in or with batteries.

Even if traditional alarm clocks are far from being the embodiment of the definition of “fashionableâ€, a word that people are so very accustomed to in this new gadgetized era, most of us still need a device to wake us up in those mornings when we just can’t open our eyes without a helping hand.
Most of the digital clocks are powered by AA batteries, but designers are trying their best to come up with better solutions for a “greener†world.

The Timeless Garden is quite unusual, because it uses the organisms that live in the soil, producing a chemical reaction that further generates a small amount of electric charge which keeps the clock working. This means that the Timeless Garden’s life is conditioned by the life of the plant. In addition, the grass realizes the photosynthesis process, which means it extracts a certain amount of carbon from the air (a small one, unfortunately) to release in exchange oxygen.

Created by Francesco Castiglione and Tommaso Ceschi, the Timeless Garden clock is a concept device for the moment.

This is a story about being an artist, living the most unbelievable life possible, having the wildest dreams that a human being can have and, more important than anything else, making them come true. When you’re a singer and you want to stand out from your competition, you don’t care about the means very much, because all you can think of is the fact that you must become famous.

This is what happened with Josh Pyke, an Australian singer-songwriter, who had the crazy idea of commissioning a stunning guitar boat. The weird demand of the artist was more than justified, if you think about it, because there’s nothing in the whole world to catch the general attention than those things that are far from crossing humans’ minds on a regular basis.
This guy converted the guitar-shaped boat into a genuine star, because it appeared in a video for a song with the title “Make you happyâ€. After taking advantages of the awkward presence of the boat in the video, Josh Pyke decided to auction it off, in his attempt to raise funds for Indigenous Literacy Project.

“Seeing the guitar boat clip spread around the world has been one of the highlights of releasing this album [Chimney’s Fire] so farâ€, said the artist in a discussion with the guys from Undercover News. In addition, he said that “I love the idea that its charm will now go towards helping something I’m passionate aboutâ€.
Maybe you’re eccentric human beings who’d love to have their own guitar-shaped boat or you are generous and always ready to make a good deed, so I’m sure you’re interested in information about the auction. Therefore, the boat is going to hit an auction that is said to take place on eBay from February 9 to February 12.
However, if you don’t have the means to participate to this auction, maybe you’d like to see the boat before being sold, and you can do this by visiting the Australian National Maritime Museum in Darling Harbour, Sydney.

There were so many times during my life when I really wanted a helping hand, a divine one, to be more precise, because it seemed that problems I was facing were overwhelming and impossible for regular human beings to solve. Anyway, the point is that sometimes is better let hazard do the work for you, because in situations like this the last thing you need is to blame yourself or anyone else for your bad choices.

And if you’d rather free yourself of any type of responsibility, then the Inbi-Out is the perfect device for you. But you must not hate coins, so that you know, because this is a special one, designed by Ju-Wei Chen to help those who are irresolute by nature. The device has the same size and shape of a silver dollar coin, with the difference that this one is equipped with the GPS technology.

It sounds more than unbelievable, I agree, but you know what they say: you shouldn’t let anyone stop you from dreaming. The Inbi-Out is just one more silver dollar coin that is meant to help you make up your mind, by just flipping, it with regard to the place where you should spend your vacation, to the restaurant you should have lunch with your friends and so on. Giving you a 50 / 50 chance of all of those places, the final decision is displayed on a small screen, coming along with information like GPS coordinates and directions. In addition, the destinations you decide to go to will be recorded into some sort of databank that will provide the information for future decisions.

I, for one, would like to use this GPS coin, at least once, because I’m curious how in earth it functions. Plus, I would really like to see where it might lead me. Now, how about you? Would you go through such a spontaneous experience?

When seeing this designer’s exquisite device, you don’t actually know from the first moment what it represents. You’re confused, right? You don’t know whether it’s something it can be used for a specific purpose or it’s just a piece of decoration.

The point is that Tommy Chen has come up with a unique device that combines a wide variety of functionalities, such as an iPod dock, a mobile phone dock, a CD player and an amplifier. When docking all of these independent components together, the result is the unusual disc shape that you can see in the pictures. The YOGA (because this is the name of this concept) is a device with rounded edges that is suitable to those who have strong personalities, oriented to modernity, being perfect for almost any kind of futuristic décor that one can imagine.

Inspired by the raindrops that are falling to the ground, this is the living proof of the fact that brilliant graduation project ideas are at the tip of your finger when you spare no effort in order to succeed!

Do you know how it feels when having your laptop on your lap for more than a couple of hours and heating your legs that it makes you want to scream at the top of your lungs? I bet this picture is somehow familiar to you, even if you own a more advanced laptop, and you would do right about anything in order to avoid it.

ThermaPAK Technologies, the creator of “ultimate solution for dissipating netbook computer heatâ€, based on their HeatShift technology, is a well-known company that collaborates with famous leading manufacturers such as Ingram Micro, Targus or ThermalTake. The guys over ThermalPAK came up with a great idea as far as “burning laptops†are concerned, that will most certainly help you not to cook your legs.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
The ThermaPAK Laptop cooling HeatShift Pad is an ingenious solution, not to mention very effective, when it comes to the heat generated by laptops. On one hand, this pad is a better alternative compared to the USB cooling devices, based on a fan, and, on the other hand, the HeatShift Technology, patented by the company, does nothing but to dissipate the heat that your laptop produces.

The HeatShift Pad is made of a chemical that is said to be safe after laboratory tests and resistant to low temperatures. In addition, “it requires no power, no refrigeration and generates no noiseâ€. Another advantage of the pad is the fact that is rolls up, so it can easily be stuffed in your luggage whenever you go on business trips.
The HeatShift Pad is available in two color versions, bright pink and simple black, and works with laptops from 13 to 17 inches. The price depends on the size, so the pads range from $27.99 to $34.99.
