Inspector Gadget is a televion cartoon series developed in the 1980s which originally ran from 1983 to 1986 and remain in syndication until late 1990s. The series was coproduced by studios from France, Canada and US and had a great success. Shortly, the story tells the adventures of a crazy and clumsy inspector named Inspector Gadget who is part man, part bionic machine. Due to his duplicity, the Inspector has various gadgets built into his body, that are originally made to save him from dangerous situations, as well as saving the day and the humanity. Often clueless stumbling through any case he is given, Gadget usually makes foolish and clumsy mistakes pertaining to surroundings and current environment and he always gets in trouble, instead of avoiding it or, why not, even repair it. But because every superhero needs a helper, and Batman knows that the best, our Inspector Gadget its also “provided” with a wonderful and helpful friend, in the name of his niece, Penny.

She is the one that always gets him out of trouble, due to her unseen help she provides and also with a little help from the part of her dog, Brain.

As said before, Penny is Inspector Gadget’s niece, a pretty blond young girl who wears pigtails, a red and white shirt, green pants and red shoes. She is also the only one who changes outfits during the series and doesn’t always appear in her original clothes, having a quite diverse range of outfits depending the season or simply the episode.

Penny is a master of amateur detective and technology expert who always manages to help her uncle and usually solves the cases her uncle was assigned. In terms on relationships, Gadget appears as her legal guardian and throughout the show, her parents are never mentioned.

Penny has a range of gadgets that she usually appeals to in order to help her uncle who always gets in trouble. Through her devices, the ones worth mentioning are a computer book she always carry which assists her in searching for useful information. Among others, she also uses a wristwatch with a laser beam, a communicator which she uses in order to call Brain. her dog, Chiem Quimby, her uncle’s boss and Gadget.

Penny is usually the one that investigates the clues and helps solving the case by discovering M.A.D.’s evil plans. She is also the one that solves almost all cases using her computer book or changing the devices M.A.D. intents to steal, from reals to fakes. Furthermore, it is irrelevant to mention that she completes all these tasks with full discretion and so subtle, that not even the criminal anti-hero, Doctor Claw realizes that his true enemy isn’t clumsy and silly Inspector Gadget, but the little girl herself.

Inspector Gadget’s journey began in 1983 when the merge between studios from France, Canada and US united their forces to create an animated television series about a funny and clumsy detective called Inspector Gadget. Built on the model of a clumsy super-hero more humanized, the Inspector is a fictive character part human, part bionic machine. Created by Andy Heyword, Jean Chalopin and Bruno Bianchi, the Inspector Gadget show originally ran between 1983 and 1986 and it was distributed worldwide, making it a successful cartoon.

Due to its success, in 1999 the Disney company transformed it into a live-action movie starring Mathew Broderick and Rupert Everett. Later on, in 2003 the Inspector Gadget sequel was released directly to VHS and DVD but none of the 1999’s movie actors played anymore. The sequel is considered better than the original, as the first movie was poor in details and lacked that touch of comedy that is a major problem of almost all cartoon series which later became real actors movies.

References to the cartoon are many, so practically the real actors movie continues the same goofy line like the cartoon’s episodes. Not far from its original cartoon roots is also IG’s behavior, which shifts between his unprofessional, goofy way of acting and the fact that he always resolves the cases in the end, one way or another, with or without dumb luck or help from the others. Though, a difference is that, in the movie IG seems a lot more wise than he appeared in the cartoons and he can never seem to make his gadgets work well as they are supposed to in order to catch the bad guys. A lot of similarities between the original cartoon series and the IG 2 movie convey also from the way the main characters are described, seen or acted. Such share points are: Inspector Gadget’s behavior, the fact that Dr. Claw takes after his Mad Cat always, unlike the first movie, or that Dr. Claw’s figure is never to be seen except his mouth or in one scene one of his eyes.

The second movie also gives a romantic ending to the story between Inspector Gadget and Penny, so that after they reverse the effects of the laser prone to kill the humanity, the two characters fall in love. The ending scene includes a kiss and fireworks comming out of their hats and, of course, the always mad faces of the chief and the mayor.

During the decades the show was rolled, fans discovered similarities between the Inspector Gadget’s clumsy behaviour and other characters such as Inspector Clouseau from the Pink Panther series. His stupidity always leads him into big trouble, but he always finds a way out thanks to his gadgets, Penny’s unseen strings pulled or pure luck (most of the times).

As most of us grew reading comic books or watching cartoons starring the Batman, everybody was at least once fascinated by the cool gadgets that he has. Some said they are all pure fiction, some tried to actually invent them during the superhero’s history, and some almost made it. But most of us keep on dreaming on having at least one of his gadgets once in their lifetime.

Also known as The Dark Knight or The Caped Crusader, Batman used his history some of the most discussed gizmos, found at the edge between fiction and reality. But what are his trademarks, the things that we immediately associate with the Gotham City hero?

The Batsuit

Batman is universally known because of the suit he wears. This suit has gone from a tailored pair of gray tights, to a full-body rubber suit, to a high-tech, custom designed set of combat armor. The Batarang

And because no ordinary Batman could go on a fight without a bat-shaped boomerang, they called it the Batarang. Batman’s metal bat-shaped boomerang has come in hand in many ways: with a line attached to it for scaling walls, as an explosive, or as a boomerang with an electric charge, just to name a few. His fancier batarangs such as the exploding variety haven’t really been explored here in the real world, though maybe the idea of taping a grenade to a throwing knife just hasn’t appeal to many sane people.

“Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers” is an animated series produced by Walt Disney and created by Tad Stones and Alan Zaslove. These cartoons are presenting the adventures of the famous characters Chip & Dale only that in a whole new different setting. Now Chip & Dale are more serious and they have started a detective agency, with the help of their friends: Gadget, Monterey Jack and Zipper. They are trying to solve the crimes that are “too small” for the police and usually their clients are other animals.

Today we’ll discuss about the female character from their team of detectives, Gadget Heckwrench. She is a female mouse that has blue eyes and an interesting feature – the color of her hair changes from one episode to another. Sometimes her hair is blond, other times it is orange or even close to red. But the producers didn’t do this on purpose, and it is just because of the color palette that they used on that time. She is usually wearing a pair of lavender mechanic’s coveralls, with a purple belt and a pair of goggles that she keeps on her forehead. This is her usual outfit, but of course in some episodes she is dressed in other ways too, depending on the situation.

And since her name is Gadget, she couldn’t be anything else than an inventor. She is a combination of the “cute girl next door” with an obsessed inventor. She is usually friendly with everyone and she is loyal to her friends and helps them any time they need. She makes most of the characters feel good around her because of her personality and there are just a few persons that she doesn’t like – and these are usually the villains.

She is always thinking, and trying to invent all sorts of new things but sometimes she has troubles on finding just one way to do things. But after she finds it, she can invent really fast. Sometimes she can even be naive and may not understand exactly what Chip, Dale or other characters want her to invent. Sometimes she is really excited about her inventions and she begins to talk in a scientific language and really fast. When this happens the others remain quiet and they don’t have a clue about what she just said, but this doesn’t seem to bother Gadget Hackwrench.

As we said before, she is really nice and friendly, but she has a limit too. And when someone annoys her she can get really mad and even aggressive. But luckily these events are rare, and most of the time she is a really cool character.

Even though she is a good inventor, sometimes her inventions are not working as they should. And a sign that usually lets the other characters know that an invention may not work perfectly, is when Gadget says “should work with no problems”. And most of the times when she says this, it happens the exact opposite.

Today we’ll discuss about a specific video, one with a chameleon. We all know that chameleons are famous for their ability to change colors according to the environment, and this video is just about this topic. We first searched for this video on youtube, by entering keywords such as “cool chameleon” or “the coolest chameleon ever video”. But we found just some videos with just a few hundreds views. And we thought that this is not possible, since this video is really famous all over the world. And then we found out that the real name of the video is “Super chameleon”, and it has more than 1,800,000 views. It also has 4,700 ratings and 3,576 comments, and this proves what we said before – that is a really famous video.

So now let’s discuss about this really interesting video. The video begins with a big green chameleon sitting on a table. After a few seconds someone puts a pair of purple sunglasses on the table, near the chameleon. And now the magic begins to happen, and once the chameleon touches the sun glasses, it begins to color himself in purple. And after just 2-3 seconds, he is all covered in purple. Then the person takes the purple sunglasses away, and puts a pair of blue sunglasses on the table. And just in a few moments after touching them, the chameleon begins to turn blue. Its color is changing beginning from the leg which he touches the glasses with, and then through his whole body. After this the hand puts a new pair of sunglasses, this time some red ones. And of course, the chameleon will turn red. The next pair will be a black one, and the chameleon will again change its color. And the video ends “triumphal” with the chameleon sitting on three pairs of sun glasses (blue, purple and black), and with its body colored in three different colors – the head is blue, the beginning of the torso is purple, and the rest of the torso and tail are black. So after all it is a cool video, that is showing the ability of the chameleon to change its color. But from our perspective, this video is a fake, because none chameleon can change its color so fast (in just a few seconds). If you read some of the comments you will notice that there are 2 type of users: the ones who consider this video a fake, and the ones who believe that it is real. So after all it is up to you to decide which of these 2 parts you join.

Another famous video with a chameleon is the one called “Go shorty”. This video also has more than 1 million views and thousands of ratings and comments. In this video you can see a chameleon that is crossing the street, and which seems to dance. In the background you can hear the famous song of 50 cent – In da club, and the chameleon seems to move according to this song. This video is entirely true, and of course the chameleon was not dancing, but someone thought to put some music in the background and to make it look like he is dancing. And this was quite a good idea, that made the video really funny and really popular.

Inspector Gadget is an animated TV series that presents the adventures of a clumsy detective with the same name. He is a human, but it has many bionic gadgets that are built into his body. His enemy is Dr. Claw which is the leader of an evil organization called M.A.D. The cartoons were originally launched in 1983 and since then there had been made 2 seasons and 86 episodes. They had a great success, and they are still popular all over the world and they are made in collaboration by Canada, United States of America and France.

The main character is of course Inspector Gadget and his appearance is similar to the one of Inspector Clouseau from the Pink Panther series. Even if he wants it or not, many times he makes all sorts of clumsy and funny mistakes, sometimes he even confuse his niece with enemies and the enemies with friends. These mistakes are always putting him in troubles, but each time he manages to escape safely thanks to his cool gadgets. In his adventures he is helped by his niece Penny, by his faithful dog “Brain the Dog and he always fights with Dr. Claw and his assistants.

Since we are at the gadgets category, we’ll discuss now about some of the Inspector Gadget gadgets. Some of them are really interesting and quite strange, and sometimes they are helping him while other times they are only making his work even more difficult. When he uses a gadget, the inspector says “Go Go Gadget” and then the name of the gadget he wants to use. But to make things more funny, most of the times another gadget appears rather then the one he requested. Or even if the requested gadget appears, it is not working properly.

So now here are some of his gadgets:

- Gadget binoculars – a pair of binoculars that go down from his had and over his eyes

- Gadget ‘brella – a little hand that is holding an umbrella that comes out from his has. He usually uses this one as a parachute too.

- Gadget coat – the trench coat of the inspector which can inflate when he pushes a button and enable him to float

- Gadget ‘copter – some helicopter propeller blades that come out of his hat and which are helping him to fly

- Gadget cuffs – a pair of handcuffs that come out of his forearm

- Gadget hands – some mechanical hands that are coming out of his hat and which are holding all sorts of objects which the inspector needs to use

- Gadget arms, legs and neck – even these parts of the body of the inspector are gadgets and they can extend to great lengths

- A top secret Gadget phone – practically his hand becomes the phone, and the earpiece is placed in his thumb while the mouthpiece is placed in his pinky finger

- Gadget skates – some roller skates that are coming out of his shoes. But unfortunately he is very clumsy and hardly keeps his balance on these skates

- Gadget spring – a spring that comes out of his hat and which is used when the inspector falls down on the ground, with the head first. So this way he won’t injure himself and he will bounce.

- Gadget flower – a mechanical hand that is holding a sunflower and which is coming out from his hat. This usually sprays water or a sleeping gas on an enemy

- Gadget ears – metal cones that get out of his head, around his ears and which are helping him to hear better

- Gadget periscope – a periscope that comes out of his hat and which allows him to see over high objects and also underwater

- Gadget magnets – some magnets that are coming out of his shoes. They are allowing him to avoid slipping on slippery surfaces that are also metallic, because he can hold a grip on them

- Gadget siren – a police siren that comes out of his hat

- Gadget skis – a pair of skis that are coming out of the front and back of his shoes

- Gadget wind sail – a very big wind sail that comes out of his hat and which combined with the Gadget skis are allowing him to wind sail on the snow

- Gadget radar – as you might figured it out…a radar coming out of his hat

- And finally the Gadget fingers – there are all sorts of objects coming out of his fingers such as: a flashlight, a laser, a pen, a screwdriver, a skeleton key, a snow gun, a water pistol, a drill bit, a corkscrew or a whistle.
