The future car concept, the 918 Spyder, is supposed to be one of the fastest (if not THE fastest) hybrid electric car on the market. Most people don’t believe that a car which can go from 0-60 in under 3.2 seconds might also be eco-friendly, but the Porsche automakers beg to differ. This unique ride can reach tops speeds of 200 mph and gets a massive 78 miles per gallon – double the quantity most compact cars achieve on a good day.

This speed demon is charged by a 3.4 liter V8 engine which comes equipped with a lithium ion battery pack that can be charged from almost anywhere, as well as any time you hit the breaks. The pricing will be certainly in the 6 digit field (near the $500,000 mark), and is not likely to be scheduled for sale on the market for at least another year, probably closer to 2012 or 2013. Future cars will have many advantages from these technological innovations and the overall quality of usual day-to-day cars will be improved.

Nissan has also joined the race to produce and put up for sale
the first practical electric car.
Nissan Leaf, as they named it, is projected to achieve up to 100 miles per battery charge with a top speed of 75 mph. The leaf is a pure electric car that runs on lithium-ion batteries and can hold up to 5 passengers. The battery is anticipated to completely recharge within 8-16 hours, depending on the wattage of the outlet.

The target economies for car are the United States, Europe, and Japan. The starting price for this ground-breaking sedan will be somewhere between $25-30,000, much less than its prestige adversary, the
Tesla Model S which costs $58,000 and debuts in 2012. The new
Scion iQ, Toyota’s next extremely anticipated car is hoping to break through in the U.S. come the end of 2010/early 2011. This new mini car is theoretically more eco-friendly, and capable to achieve almost 55 miles per gallon. The new look is definitely the best part of the new Scion. The previous
Scions have always been quite boxy looking with not as much appeal, but this one seems to have a much better design.
The iQ will be able to sit 3 people, 2 in the front and 1 smaller individual in the back. The price is estimated to be about $15,000 and over 25,000 orders have already been fulfilled. Scion’s area of focus will be Europe and Japan. There seem to be more than a few designers and universities around the globe that have successfully designed cars that can drive themselves, without any real human intervention. Some of these cars have been able to navigate through lanes, follow traffic signs, make U-turns, and even avoid obstacles. Some scientists predict that by the year 2020 our roads will be operated by driverless cars. The objective of these new cars is to prevent traffic jams.

Each of these cars use a camera, lasers, and GPS sensors that shoot out light beams which can detect reflections, thus determining the distance from the obstacles.

Cars are far beyond being just means of transport. They are loved and used for showing off, for transport and for the owner’s ego, too. But even if these cars are capable of reaching very high speeds, this is not legal, so you can’t speed up when you are driving in your neighbourhood, but only on highways and even there there’s a speed limit. So I guess the guys who have so powerful cars are in fact a bit frustrated and they break the law every time they get the chance hoping they will not be caught.
<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->
That is the main reason why police cars must be faster or at least as fast as those cars belonging to criminals, because otherwise the policemen will not be able to catch the bad guys. But there is no such thing as an universal model of a police car. It’s up to the local authorities to invest some money in the car model they want to use as police car in their community. And, of course , they choose the model that is compatible with their finances and also with their purposes of catching more criminals and decrease the criminality in the area. Some choose fast, but not so spectacular cars, but some choose to have the coolest and fastest police cars ever.
Of course the idea of coolest and fastest police car ever is pretty subjective, as tastes may differ a lot, but the point is that you can find many cool car models being used as police cars and only painted afterwards with the colors that represent the law force in a certain state and also they are added the specific equipment like the lights and radio transmitter and all. Or you can divide them into two parts: the coolest and the fastest because some people think the fastest cars are not necessarily the coolest.
For example some of the oldest models of police cars are considered the coolest, too. Here you can see a relative top with these coolest police cars: International Paddy Wagon used in Baltimore, Chevy Bel Air used in Texas, Border Patrol Dune Buggy used in Arizona, Ford Fairlane, Chevrolet Camaro, Dodge Coronet used in California as police car, Ford mustang LX used in Texas, Dodge Charger Police Edition used in Michigan, Dodge Diplomat or Fury used in New York and Ford Crown Victoria Interceptor used about everywhere. Of course these are just a few examples of the coolest and fastest police cars ever.
But like I said tastes differ and I found some other examples of police cars that can very well be considered the coolest of their type: 1988 Ford Mustang, Mini Cooper,CMC Tiffany, Global Electric Motorcar used in Brighton UK, Hummer, Jaguar XF, Carbon Motors E7, Porche 911 and many others that were only designed to be used for police cars or maybe they were really used. The fastest police cars can be considered , no doubt, Chevrolet Caprice, Lamborghini Gallardo, Ford Police Interceptor, Caparo T1, Porsche 911.

While many people only dream about having a supercar in their garage, there are people who are capable of paying any price only to become the owner of a very powerful and fast car. If you are one of them or are simply passionate about supercars, in this review we will present you the world’s coolest car, named the SSC Ultimate Aero.
<-300×250 Medium Rectangle – center->
The SSC Ultimate Aero is a supercar equipped with a powerful engine manufactured by Shelby SuperCars Company. This extraordinary SSC Ultimate Aero is the fastest production car in the entire world, having a top speed of 257 MPH. The newest model, known as 2009 SSC Ultimate Aero comes with several modifications and improvements at the exterior aerodynamic, interior design and a 15% increased horsepower. The most important change of this new car is the single-piece aluminum-block engine which improves the engine’s structure and oiling capacities, offering the phenomenal value of 1287 horsepower. But let’s talk a bit about the aspect of this superb item.
The SSC Ultimate Aero is in fact a two-door coupe supercar. Measuring 82.7 inches in width, 176.2 inches in length and 43.0 inches in height, this supercar comes with a body made of fiber carbon combined with aluminum, materials which offer an increased protection and a lighter weight than any other materials. From the exterior, the Aero looks exactly like a race car. The body presents large air vents and curved lines for an excellent aerodynamic value and a low ground clearance which offers a better adhesion of the wheels.
On the back, this car comes with a spoiler (controllable by a switch) which also contributes at the adhesion. The interior of the car is also very exclusivist. Only high-quality materials have been used in the manufacturing process of the chairs, the board and the upholstery. Even if there is a powerful race-car design influence, the combination between fiber carbon and stainless steel feels very comfortable and pleasant to touch.
When it comes to the power, the SSC Ultimate Aero let us see why it is the world’s coolest car. Under the hood, the Ultimate Aero comes with a monstrous Twin Turbo V8 engine with a total capacity of 7000 cc. This engine is capable of maximum 7200 RPM and produces neither more nor less than 1287 BHP. With such a lot of power, this amazing supercar is capable of reaching 60 MPH in only 2.7 seconds. The top speed has been measured at 270 MPH, a speed which is hard to beat. The power of the engine is managed and transmitted to the wheels thanks to a 6-speed manual gear-box which is extremely precise, an important aspect for a supercar.
For braking from such a high speed, the SSC Ultimate Aero is equipped with high-end technology brakes, with special disks made of combination between ceramic and carbon fiber. These brakes are capable to stop the car from a speed of 60 MPH in less than 2 seconds or 100 meters.
All this being said, the SSC Ultimate Aero certainly deserves the title of the world’s coolest car proving that with the necessary technology, a car can run at a speed that we only used to dream about. If you like this car and want to have it in your garage, there is just one surprise in store for you. Even if it is the fastest car in the world, you need to pay $654.000, so it is much cheaper than a Bugatti Veyron or a McLaren F1

The ancient Romans had a maxim that said “De gustibus non est disputandum” meaning ” there is no disputing about tastes. That is everybody is entitled to an opinion and we cannot tell that somebody’s taste is good or bad because opinions are different. And all opinions are subjective. Sometimes we like one thing only because it reminds us of some special person or place, not because we like its features. So if you ask a person what are the coolest cars ever you will get a lot of different answers.
<-300×250 Medium Rectangle – center->
Some of us like sports cars, some SUVs, some very fast cars, some others vintage cars and so on. There are so many criteria for selecting the cooloest cars that it is impossible to select only ten or twenty of them. All the specialized magazines and web sites have tried to make a top 10 with the coolest cars ever, but they all got very different results.Let’s see three examples of different top 10 coolest cars made by different web sites that are specialized in cars and you will see what I mean and if your opinion is the same with the visitors of these web pages.

The first top ten was made based on a poll of both the professional staff of an automotive web site and the visitors:

1. Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray (that is a vintage car as it was manufactured and released between 1963-1967)

2. Porche 911

3. Shelby Cobra

4. Jaguar XK 120

5. Citroen DS

6. Duesenberg J/SJ/SSJ

7. Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing

8. Lancia Stratos

9. Aston martin DB5

10. Jaguar E-Type

The second top ten is a lot different, but again, it was made according to the opinions of the web site editor, a specialist in cars :

1. Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster

2. Ferrari Enzo

3. Mc Laren F1

4. Lamborghini Diablo Roadster

5. Ferrari 360/430 Modena

6. Dodge Viper

7. Porche 911 Carrera

8. Saleen S7 Twin Turbo

9. Hummer

10. Bentley Continental

I could not help noticing that all the cars in this top are really fast and were produced in a rather limited edition. Most of them had another intriguing feature, too – the vertical doors.

The third and last top 10 with the coolest cars ever refers mainly to the muscle cars of all times, so you will notice older models:

1. Shelby Mustang

2. Chevrolet Camaro

3. Ford Mustang

4. Dodge Challenger

5. Chevrolet Corvette

6. Plymouth Barracuda

7. Plymouth Superbird

8. AMC Javelin

9. Oldsmobile 442

10. Mercury Cougar

You can agree or disagree, but like I said everyone is entitled to an opinion. You can read these tops to find out what are the tastes and opinions of other people , but make your own top 10 or top 100 with your personal favourite cars. You can choose the James Bond cars that fascinated us since childhood or race cars, trucks or speedy cars, stylish cars with a fancy design or off-road cars – it’s entirely up to yuo.
