The Great Camera With 160 Megapixels

Seitz 160 Megapixels

Yes, you read the title correctly, 160 megapixels. Sony and Canon are going to be envious on the capabilities, that’s for sure. The amasing camera from Seiz has 6×17 as size and by the looks of it, only Hercules would be happy to take pictures with it all the time. The quality is beyong the wildest imagination of any fotographer : one full resolution image taken with this Seitz camera at 48-bit color depth will take up 900 MB of storage! And that’s just one photo – imagine the trouble of having a photo shoot with this “monster”. The camera can be operated by using a PDA as well, and it uses a mac mini as storage (which is rather limited). The price? Although it hasn’t appeared yet on any online sales portal, the price is estimated at $40,000. However, you ever get the chance to use such a camera, try taking pictures of the moon and send us some seriously resized photos.

3D Loreo Lens If you were lucky enough to have watched a movie in 3D, with special glasses, then you might have a clue on what a 3D image will look like. It doesn’t matter what kind of camera you have – you can turn it into a 3D picture maker with the help of the Loreo 3D Lens Attachment as you can see in the image on the left. The price is rather convenient for the capabilities of this device, around $55. The 3D Lens Loreo has been made in versions for the Nikon, Canon EOS and FD, Olympus, Pentax, Minolta MD and AF. It might work with Sony Alpha cameras. The “secret” is that there are two lens elements that expose the CCD chip of the camera to the same image. But in order to enjoy the 3D view you will need the Loreo 3D software. Interestingly enough, even 3D printing is possible.

Sony HDR-UX20

Sony has released recently a new camcorder, with 1080p HD recording capabilities, called the HDR-UX20. The new encoding system optimizes the balance between image definition and file size: it uses MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 video codec so that it can be compatible with third party editing software like the Canopus Software products. The camcorder comes with Carl Zeiss Sonnar lens – with Sony we wouldn’t expect otherwise, support for 8cm dual layer DVD recording, a media card and 8GB of memory. The price ranges around $1000.
