Best electric toothbrush has an integrated accelerometer
Ok. Breathe in, guys, breathe out. I know, it’s difficult for you to read all sorts of things about the best cell phone, best digital picture frame, best MP3 player. Each and every product that appears in the spotlight will most certainly be considered the best so far. Just like this toothbrush. It is the best electric toothbrush because… guess what? It is said to be the world’s first to be equipped with an integrated accelerometer.

At first glance, you wouldn’t say that it’s different from any other toothbrush that you’ve seen before, but if you were able to see what’s inside, you would be fascinated. Or not, if you’re not the type of guy that gets excited too easy. Anyway, the secret consists of the three-axis accelerometer sensor.
The sensor is designed to detect how the user it brushing his/her teeth, the angle, to be more precise, and, what’s even more important, it is made to control (automatically) both the vibration speed and the direction of the toothbrush. To give you an example, you should know that the back teeth are polished at 32,500 cycles per minute, while the periodontal pockets are brushed at 20,000 cycles per minute.
Designed by Omron Healthcare, what’s supposed to be the best electric toothbrush is made of a substrate material that is much more resistant to vibration compared to other materials toothbrushes are made of. The company has had in mind the mid-end market, but it seems that with the so-called HT-B551 it is trying to hit the high-end market also.
The main disadvantage of the toothbrush is that it will be sold in Japan only, under a price that we don’t know for sure right now, but it’s rumored at approximately $200.
