Look at the picture below and tell me if there’s something in it that looks a little bit peculiar. Come on, make an effort and share with me the impression the picture leaves you with after analyzing it for a couple of seconds. It won’t take too long until you realize how silly that man looks like with that video camera placed right in the middle of his forehead.

Called the Third Eye, the camera is so very small, even smaller than a golf ball, if you ever got the chance to put your hands on one, and has an ultralight spherical shape. Attached to a headband, the small video camera can be placed on one’s forehead and used just like a third eye while doing regular activities, such as biking or hiking.

The camera is provided with a sensor that is able to capture image at 30 frames per second (fps) with a resolution of 320x240 pixels. There’s an integrated microphone that facilitates the audio record.

The 8GB microSD memory card which is included in the package gives the user the possibility to store up to 1,200 still images and approximately six hours of video, which can be further downloaded to your desktop or laptop using a USB cable. As far as the system requirements are concerned, the PC must run on Windows with USB 2.0.

The Third Eye is equipped with a rechargeable battery that is able to provide up to 2 and a half hours of continuous operation. For something like this to happen, you’ll have to charge the camera for about eight hours with the USB cable. In addition, there’s a special function that allows you to set the camera to record both images and video when movements are detected.

The small camera video can be purchased right away from Hammacher Schlemmer for $299.95.
