25th Anniversary Casio G-shocks

I remember my first serious wrist watch was a Casio digital. That was in 1998 and after a few years I made the jump for the G-shock series. I don’t really use a wrist watch now, but that’s some other story. Anyway, Casio celebrates its 25th anniversary by launching many new models. Two of these models are truly worth their G-shock brand name.

First, there is the GW225E-7, the ultimate model, if you’d like. It is specifically built for professional divers and sports an outstanding 200 meter water resistance. It has a timer that keeps track of your dives, and comes complete with memory storage for vital stats like blood type, diver certification card and passport number. It also has a solar battery so it can last several years without changing it. Unfortunately, this model has no atomic multi-band feature like the previous versions. You can get it online for about $350.

The other G-shock model is dubbed Dolphin & Whale as it is inspired by the Dolphin & Whale Eco-Research Network, a group working on environmental protection initiatives. Its casing is translucent like the GW225E-7, but comes with blue highlights to represent the oceanic environment. On the metallic back it is engraved with the slogan "All Is One," conveying the Network's feelings on life and nature. Just like the previous model, the D&W features the solar battery and integrates the latest Multi-Band 5 technology, plus it’s rust resistant and lights up in the dark. D&W has no price specified for the moment.
