Best small camcorder

Friday, June 12th, 2009

And here we go again with the “best…” thing. It’s like everything that appears in the market is undoubtedly the best, even if there are two or more products fighting for the first place, while their manufacturers are claiming they are the best.

You can see the evolution of technology everywhere, even in those products that are so small that you have to make serious efforts in order to see them. And the same happens with this Muvi Micro Camcorder, which seems to be something like the miniature of an analog camcorder. You can consider it a miniature, due to its small dimensions, but what you should know is that you can do with it precisely what you could do with an advanced analog camcorder.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

It measures no more than 5.5 x 2 x 2 centimeters, which makes it among the smallest camcorders in the whole world, if not the smallest of them all. And the best thing about it is that you can wear it, for example, around your neck, which was an impossible dream when it came to the camcorders that we all know very well.

The device comes with a microSD memory card for expandable memory of no more than 8GB and it is able to record in VGA quality (with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels). Ah, and one more thing! There is a 2GB MicroSD card included in the box!

In addition, there is the so-called VOX mode, which enables the sound, so that you can record using either your voice or all sorts of other noises that have more than 65 decibels.

Interested in the Muvi Micro Camcorder? Go buy it, then, for no more than £79.95!

iPod Nano 4G cases from Belkin

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

Belkin is one of the numerous companies that have a history when it comes to the iPod accessories that are available in the market right now, so they are trying to continue the tradition with their latest iPod Nano 4G cases, called Micra and Fuse.

Targeted at the style-conscious public, the new cases “celebrate the vibrant colors of the nano with graphical and technological enhancements”. In addition, speaking to consumers’ want for cases that act as an extension of their personal style, Belkin’s Micra and Fuse Cases tell us that we don’t have to hide the color of our iPod nano in order to protect it”.

The Micra Cases, on one hand, come with a ClearScreen Overlay that is designed to protect the display of your iPod and it’s made of polycarbonate. The Micra Cases are available in the following version: Micra Glam, a case with a touch of sparkle, Micra Dusk, a smoky charcoal case, Micra Chex and Micra Flow. All of these cases cost $19.99 each and $24.99 in a pack of two cases.

As for the Fuse Cases, on the other hand, they were inspired by the bold and bright colors that were all the rage back in the ‘80s. High-gloss polycarbonate was used for the top of the case, while matte-finish polycarbonate was used for the bottom. The Fuse Cases are available in a wide variety of color combinations: blue/black, clear/black, pink/black, purple/black, red/black and yellow/black and they cost the same as the Micra Cases.

All the cases are available for purchase in countries from Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, Middle East and U.S, except for the Micra Flow Case, which you’ll be able to find only in Africa, Europe and Middle East.

Mini microwave said to be “world’s smallest”

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

It’s maybe each and every human being’s dream to have more space to dispose of, because when you feel like the walls are trying to swallow you with your desk and everything, all you want is to just free yourself of that unpleasant burden created by the invading spaces.

This is why Heinz is very eager to turn a very successful prototype into reality. Called the Beanzwave, the prototype I mentioned earlier is said to be the world’s smallest microwave and it’s powered by USB. One obstacle the company should surpass right now is related to the costs which will certainly lead to a very expensive product.

<-300x250 Medium Rectangle - center->

“The mini microwave is being developed as a partner to Heinz Snap Pots, baked beans in single-serving containers. The Snap Pots, available in the U.K., fit perfectly into the Beanzwave. But the $160 device will only be released commercially if consumer feedback is positive and if component prices drop in the near future.”

So, measuring no more than 7.4 (tall) x 6.2 (wide) x 5.9 (deep) inches, the mini microwave can be used for either heating a can of beans/soup/anything.

Still don’t have sandals in your metal detecting equipment?

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Well, if you don’t, and I really can’t believe such thing, I also can’t understand how in earth you can still consider yourself a pro when it comes to searching the buried treasures that your grandpa told you about when you were a little kid. It’s not that easy to find those treasures if you’re not perfectly equipped. I’m not speaking from experience, because I have never hunted such fortunes, but it’s logical, you know?

Anyway, if you made up your mind about becoming a pro in the true sense of the word, then you should consider these Metal Detecting Sandals from Hammacher Schlemmer. They aren’t the most stylish sandals that you have ever seen and they won’t help you make a fashion statement, that’s for sure. But you’ll have that unbelievable satisfaction that you managed to complete your metal detecting equipment.

Now, they look kind of goofy, if you ask me, not to mention how you would look when wearing those sandals. But you can’t spare any effort, of any kind, in your attempt to find those treasures. The sandals will help you detect the metal while having a walk on the beach, for example. There’s an integrated copper coil stuffed within the right sandal that gets its power from a battery pack that the user must wrap around the calf.

“Using beat frequency oscillation technology, the ring creates a magnetic field; when a metal object is underfoot – up to 2’ – it distorts the field and the battery pack alerts you to the presence of metal using a flashing red light and either a gentle vibration or a clearly audible buzz.”

These Metal Detecting Sandals run on a 9-volt battery which is not included in the package and provides approximately six hours of operation. Available in both men’s and women’s sizes, the sandals can be purchased from Hammacher Schlemmer for $59.95.
